I live in The
Wedge, the hippest neighborhood in
Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. The Wedge neighborhood seems to have
the most coffee shops per square mile of any neighborhood in Minneapolis.
I like coffee, but I don't go nuts for it. But if you do, and you live
in The Wedge, you have many options open to you. One of the coffee shops
is a cyber-café. It's called Cyber-X
(and I have to admit, I've never been in it.)
I live in a big house that was built in 1893. It's cool, but I still
need to do a lot of work to it. I live there with my lovely wife Leslie,
my two daughters, Stephanie and Rosalyn and a cat, Rafe.

- On December 19th, I got emailed a photo of a car with more than a
TON of lumber and building supplies on it. I thought it was really funny,
so I put up a page and mailed the link to a mail list I am on. About
50 people. Well, someone seems to have spread the link around and my
DSL line promptly clogged with all the traffic. There is a counter on
the page and more info there, but as of now it's gotten more than 30,000
hits. Here is the page.
- In October 2000 I attended the SANS
Conference in Monterey, CA. In addition to spending a week in sunny
California, I attended classes on Network Security, an area that I am
very interested in. As a part of the classes, I got to add more certifications
to my resume. I am now GSEC
and GCFW
certified. You can view my GSEC
practical and my
GCFW practical(WARNING - Large (4MB) Document.)
- Well, in an interesting turn of events, I now have a new job! As of
16 October 2000, I will be working for Internet
Broadcasting Systems, Inc as a System Administrator. This is pretty
much my dream job. I get to play with Unix (various flavors), NT, cool
hardware and learn all kinds of new stuff. The people are really cool
and fun to work with and the pay isn't bad either!
- In March, 2000, I got a DSL line into my house and a domain name!
This site is now hosted in my own web server under my desk! Check out

- In Feburary, 1999, I quit my job of 11 years, changed careers and
became a full-time computer geek. I now work for a consulting firm,
LDSi Consulting Services,
and am loving every minute of it!
